My Bikram Yoga obsession rises to new heights. I hope this isn’t just another phase I obsess over for a season or 2, then move on. Because it’s a healthy addiction. As you may have noticed, I have quite the addictive personality, interests in my life is 110% passionate or nearly apathetic. The euphoria I feel after a 90-minute Yoga session brings me to a higher high than I’ve ever felt. In November, I made my first commitment in buying a 10-class card which expires in 3 months. I knew by buying that, it would force me to go, which averages about 1 class per week. I JUST finished it last week! And just renewed a new pass! Except this next season’s goal will be to practice at least 2 times a week, finishing in less than 2 months.

I still suffer from time to time, in feelings of nausea & such when not properly hydrated or rested well, and thoughts still run through my mind while holding in nearly impossible poses on why this torture chamber is so addictive!? But when I’m not in class, I think about it 24/7, and fiend for it.

Along with this obsession of Bikram, I picked up a drink from my class’ front desk yesterday called “Zico” which is a natural-coconut vitamin drink, which performs similarly as Gatorade with high potassium (more than a banana), electrolytes to help replenish lost fluids from an intense work-out. Listed on the Zico website (zico.com), benefits also include:

  • Muscle performance
  • All-natural energy
  • Weight-loss aid
  • Heart health
  • Stress reduction
  • Skin, hair & nail health
  • Alkaline balance
  • Mental acuity
  • Kidney cleansing
  • Natural hang-over cure

I’m not the hugest fan of Coconut juice. Of course when vacationing on a tropical island & for photo-ops, I don’t mind sipping out of a coconut, so I wasn’t sure how this would taste. But Oh my, what a surprise! The coconut taste is mild, and the most REFRESHING drink I’ve ever had! Especially after a workout.
