A while ago, I watched the documentary “Iraq in Fragments”, and learned about the 3 main types of people there, including one of which in the north, are the Kurds, in a beautifully situated green mountain area. Tonight, I saw “Turtles Can Fly”, and was reminded again.

Today.. I begin my journey into learning about their culture/history.. in which in time, I will share with you:

[ Disclaimer: Not that the internet should have all the source for history, some times it is. But as I yahoo/google, I run across so much racism & hatred. It's utterly disturbing! We need to start at the individual level in finding world peace. Hating one another, hating another group of people, just to simply 'one up' the other, to win some imaginery battle in their insecure mind will in fact, in time, turn into real wars, which we've seen in history, time and time again, repeated & not learned. Sigh... ]

Halabja is a town in Iraq in a majority Kurdish area, on the northern border of Iraq and Iran.

-Never Forget Halabja 88 . On March 16, 1988, 5,000 innocent lives (75% women & children) were killed in a chemical attack brought out by Sadam Hussein’s regime in Iraq.

“Every murder destroys a measure of human dignity.
Every genocide murders a piece of the whole world.”
