I’m currently a cripple. I got a bug bite Tuesday. When I noticed it, I knew it was more severe than I’ve ever experienced as bug bites usually itch but quickly go away. This bite on my inner left thigh burned and hurt a bit but I didn’t think too much of it. As days went by, the infection grew bigger, and the area was hard & hurt when I touched it. It also felt bruised and by Saturday, I was limping in pain. The infection started to puss & bleed. I knew something was seriously wrong. I asked around with friends, and researched the web, and many thought it could have been by the venomous, poisonous Brown Recluse Spider.

Finally I went to an urgent care doctor today. He couldn’t diagnose what kind of insect it was, but he knew it was serious and should have been taken care of earlier. The problem is I have an enormous tolerance for pain, so oftentimes, esp. with health, I let things go not realizing how damaging it can be to my health. The Brown recluse spider is poisonous, sucks up your skin, killing skin cells while the bacteria starts to spread in the surrounding area. Slowly deteriorating & eating as much as possible. It potentially can affect one’s organ and the venom spreads throughout the body.

The doctor looked at my infection and said it was on the borderline of whether he should perform surgery – numb it, cut it open, and dig out all the dead flesh, or to just squeeze as much puss/blood out as possible. I asked him to do that, it was EXTREMELY PAINFUL and the thought of some numbing shot crossed my mind but I wanted to get it out of the way as fast as possible. He then prescribed antibiotics “Sulfameth” to me.

I’m limping a bit, started my antibiotics and reallllly hope it goes away FAST without scarring. I didn’t want to post photos of it as it’s pretty gruesome. (There are plenty on the internet) But I write this blog in hopes that it will reach out to you about this kind of bug bite, whether you’re traveling or just at home. So if you or any family/friends come across it, to seek immediate medical help before it gets big. Mine is at about a 4 inch diameter of infected area. Ughhh, Piece of shit insect! I will hunt you down & slaughter you!!!
